Visiting Greece? Bring 1 and 2 Corinthians to Life!

An easy day trip from Athens

Ancient Corinth, where the Apostle Paul ministered to the Corinthians and to whom he wrote the letters of First and second Corinthians, was at the top of my “must see” list when we went to Greece in June 2025. I knew I’d appreciate the Biblical and historical significance of Ancient Corinth, but WOW! It was an incredible experience.

There are day trip tours to Ancient Corinth from Athens, but we decided to rent a car so we could explore at our own pace. It was also a more affordable option and we were comfortable driving through Athens (well, my husband was. Athenian roads were a little too wild for me)!

Here is the route I Recommend:

  • Stop 1: Corinth Canal
  • Stop 2: The Diolkos
  • Stop 3: Acrocorinth
  • Stop 4: Lunch at either of these restaurants. Both are within walking distance to the entrance of Ancient Corinth.
    – Marinos Restaurant “Authentic Greek Cuisine”
    – Farfatella Coffee, Pasta, Drinks, Pinsa
  • Stop 5: Ancient Corinth (includes the Temple of Apollo and the Archeological Museum of Corinth)
  • Stop 6: Ancient Port of Kenchreai and Apostolou Pavlou Road
  • Stop 7: Archeological site of Isthmia

Have you been to Ancient Corinth? What did you think?
